CMG Lynchburg Family Medicine

Established in 1973, Lynchburg Family Medicine is a family medicine clinic affiliated with Centra Health, Inc. We provide continuous, compassionate and competent healthcare that develops the practice skills of our resident physicians for their careers.

Our approach to care

For over 40 years, Lynchburg Family Medicine has played a pivotal role in the health and well-being of Central Virginia. As Centra’s oldest practice, we enjoy the reputation of building a broad base of patients of all ages and backgrounds. Our mission of “Educating Family Physicians through Excellent Patient Care” reflects our dual role of providing a medical home for continuous health care while developing the clinical skills of resident physicians and preparing them for health care.


Our health experts have an emphasis on the following:

  • Primary care of all age groups
  • Pre-natal, delivery and postpartum care
  • On-site OB/GYN ultrasound
  • Immunizations including flu shots and pneumonia shots
  • Wellness and prevention
  • Disease management (High blood pressure, diabetes, etc.)

  • Women’s health, including gynecological exams and birth control
  • Counseling services for all ages
  • On-site laboratory
  • On-site radiology
  • Treatment of minor injuries and illnesses

*Because this is both a clinical and academic location and our residents are in rotation, seeing the same provider continually cannot be guaranteed

Interested in becoming an LFMR resident?

Residents care for patients in our office in Lynchburg. They receive a solid base of inpatient training and care for patients in Lynchburg General Hospital and Virginia Baptist Hospital units. Relationship continuity between the physicians and patients is valued, and residents may continue to attend to their patients in local nursing homes and home visits.
